The two types:

عَدْلٌ تحْقِيْقِيٌّ ('Adl Tahqiqiyun) - When ism has an original form

عَدْلٌ تَقْدِيرِيٌّ ('Adl Taqdiriyun) - When ism is assumed to have an original form

1) عَدْلٌ - 'Adl
When ism gives up original form for a new form

The two cases:

1) The صَفَةٌ was original devised to give a descriptive meaning. If it is on the wazn (pattern) of أفْعَل and doesn't accept ت for its feminine form, it is ghayr munsarif

2) The صَفَةٌ has أَلِفٌ وَنُوْنٌ زَائِدَتَانِ (explained in type 7)

2) صَفَةٌ/وَصْفٌ - Wasf/Sifat

When ism is a pronoun noun
(name of a person, place, thing, etc)

3) عَلَمٌ - 'Alam

• Ends with round ة

  e.g. طَلْحَةُ - Talha

• Does not end with round ة and has more than three letters

  e.g. زَيْنَبُ - Zainub

• Is a non-Arabic three-letter word and middle letter is sukoon

  e.g. مِصْر - Egypt

4) تَأْنِيْثٌ - Ta'nithun
When ism is a feminine proper noun with one of the following characteristics:

5) عُجْمَةٌ - 'Aujmat
When ism is a proper noun from a non-Arabic language, either:

When ism is a combination of two words and is a proper noun

6) تَرْكِيْبٌ - Tarkeeb

• The alif and nuun appear at the end of a proper noun

  e.g. عِمْرَانُ - 'Imran

• The alif and nuun appear at the end of a sifaat whose feminine form is not on the wazn of فَعْلَانَةٌ

  e.g. عَطْشَانُ - thirsty

7) أَلِفٌ وَنُوْنٌ زَائِدَتَانِ - Alif wa Nuun Za-i-Dataani
When ism ends with alif and nuun and one of the following are true:

when a proper noun is on the wazn of a فِعْلٌ

or when a sifaat is on the wazn of أَفْعَل

8) وَزْنُ فِعْلِ - Waznu Fi'li

• Two mutaharik letters

• One mushadadun letter

• Three letters which middle letter as sukoon

9) جَمْعُ مُنْتَهَى الْجُمُوْعِ - Jamu' Muntahal Jumu'
When ism is plural and after the alif of plurality has one of the following:

2) اَلْاِسْمُ القَائِمُ مَقَامَ الصَّحِيْحُ - Ismul Qaimu Maqaamas Saheeh
An ism which ends with a و or ي preceded by sukoon

3) اَلْأَسْمَاءُ السِّتَّةُ اَلْمُكَبَّرَةُ - Asmaaus Sitatu Almukabbarah
The six ism which are not in their diminutive form. They are:

• أَبٌ - father

• أَخٌ - brother

• حَمٌ - brother-in-law

• فَمٌ - mouth

• هَنٌ - something insignificant

• ذُوْ - someone who possesses something (a quality)

4) اَلْاِسْمُ المَقْصُوْرُ - Ismul Maqsur
An ism that ends with اَلْأَلِفُ الْمَقْصُورَةُ

5) اَلْاِسْمُ الْمَنْقَوْصُ - Ismul Manqus
An ism that ends with a ي and is preceded by a kasrah
