Important to know:
Water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit (°F) (100 degrees Celsius) at sea level. However, this temperature can vary depending on the surrounding atmospheric pressure. At higher elevations, water boils at a lower temperature due to the lower air pressure.
The temperature at which water freezes is 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). This occurs when the molecules of water slow down enough to come together in a crystalline structure, forming ice. The freezing point of water can be affected by changes in pressure and the presence of impurities, but under standard conditions, 0°C is the temperature at which water freezes.
