summarize “The Veldt”

"The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury begins with a husband and wife discussing what is wrong with their nursery. The wife thinks they should get a psychologist to come look at it. Their family lives in something called a HappyLife Home. It takes care of them.
George and Lydia enter the nursery, and it uses technology to recreate an African veldt complete with vultures and lions.
Exposition
The lions are eating something in the distance but charge toward Lydia and George.
The lions are so realistic that they frighten Lydia. She and George discuss their overreliance on technology and decide the family needs to take a break from it.
Inciting Incident
George and Lydia wait for their children, Peter and Wendy, to get home. They want to talk to them about the veldt and the planned vacation from their technology-ridden home.
George attempts to get the nursery to switch from the veldt to something more benign, but it will not change. Peter and Wendy come home and pretend like they do not know anything about Africa or the veldt in the nursery. Later, George finds his wallet chewed by the veldt's lions.
Rising Action
8
As you discovered in the first half of the story, George and Lydia are excessively fearful and uncertain about the virtual veldt in the nursery.
One of the core ideas in the story is paranoia.
paranoia: (n) a tendency on the part of a person or group toward excessive distrust of others
Example: Sarah's paranoia often led her to triple-check the locks before she went to bed.
Vocab: Paranoia

Grammar Time!
A perfect tense verb is a verb that demonstrates an action that happened in the past but is still related to the present, like an action that is still continuing or that changes over time.
Verb tenses are forms of a verb that show if something occurred in the past, present, or future. Many verbs add ‑ed or ‑ing or a helping verb to indicate verb tense to do this, but some, such as ran and run, slightly modify the verb.
A linking verb is a type of verb that connects the subject of a sentence with a word or phrase that renames or describes the subject.
A verb is a word that shows an action or state of being.
Verb moods express an attitude. There are three main types of verb moods in the English language:
indicative: verbs used to express a statement or ask a question
imperative: verbs used to issue commands and directions
subjunctive: verbs used to express wants, wishes, or doubts that are contrary to facts
Active voice is when the subject is acting or is the doer while the passive voice is when the subject is acted on. Most English language writing and speaking use the active voice. However, there are occasions in which people may elect to use the passive voice. You might use the passive voice to draw attention to the recipient of the action or the action.
