Hyperthyroidism

a form of thyrotoxicosis due to
inappropriately high synthesis
and secretion of thyroid
hormone by the thyroid gland

• A 25 year female presented with palpitation
2 weeks

• Physical examination found HR 105/min BP
140/90 mmHg

• No exophthalmos, No thyroid gland enlargement
• Laboratory found
FT3 6 pg/ml (2.5-4.5 pg/ml)
FT4 3 ng/dl (0.8-1.6ng/dl)
TSH 0.001 uIU/ml

• A 25- years presented with palpitation, dyspnea
with weight loss for 4 months.

• Physical examination found HR 110/min BP
145/90 mmHg
• Mild exophthalmos, diffuse enlargement of
thyroid gland 60 gm with bruit

• Laboratory found
FT3 6 pg/ml (2.5-4.5 pg/ml)
FT4 3 ng/dl (0.8-1.6ng/dl)
TSH 0.001 uIU/ml
