to organize the huge
amounts of data or
information on the
computer.

What is File?
A file is a collection of data
that is store together. File
can be stored on the
computer’s hard drive, a
flash drive, optical disc,
memory cards or even an
email.

renamed, saved and deleted.

and location. The size of a
file is measured in bytes.

It is identify by looking at the file
extension behind the name of the file. A
period is used to separate the name
from its type like filename.type

abbreviated with three
letters.

Its is imperative to keep the
organized. Folders, also
referred to as directories,
keep file organized by
grouping them together.

●The cursor is a blinking lines that lets you
know where the next character (Letter,
numbers, symbol, punctuation will be typed.
●The file menu is where you go to access
commands like saving and printing a
document.
●When you save a document, it will replace
Document 1 at the top of the window , with
the name that you decide to give to the
document.
●The exit icon is what you click when you
wish to close the document
