Movement-
- Plates slide past each other
What can form/happen?
-Earthquakes
Transform Boundary
2
Multiple Choice
How do plates interact at a transform plate boundary?
Plates collide
Plates pull apart
Plates slide past one another
3
Multiple Choice
What seismic activity is found at a transform plate boundary?
Trenches
Subduction
Volcanoes
Earthquakes
4
They come towards each other.
The less-dense plate slides under the more dense plate
How do the plates move?
Mountain Chains
Volcanoes
What is formed?
Convergent Boundaries
5
Convergent Boundaries
When a continental plate collides with an oceanic plate, the oceanic plate will sink below the continental plate.
The region where one plate dives beneath another is called a subduction zone.
As one plate is subducted beneath the other, the rock melts under heat and pressure and transforms into magma.
Volcanoes are often found near convergent continental and oceanic plates.
6
When 2 oceanic plates smash into each other, one plate will sink beneath the other plate (creating a subduction zone), and volcanoes will form (some will be underwater volcanoes)

Convergent Boundary - What forms when 2 convergent boundaries come together? (There is more than 1 correct answer)
9
Divergent Boundary
What is the movement on a divergent boundary?
Deep cracks form in Earth's crust as the plates separate. Called rift zones or rifts (form on continents or in ocean basins)
In the ocean, these rifts form underwater mountain chains (referred to as seafloor spreading)
10
Divergent Boundary
On the continental plates, a rift valley is formed in between 2 mountain ranges.
11
Multiple Select
What forms when 2 plates pull away from each other?
underwater mountains
seafloor spreading
vallys
a big sink hole

Match
Match the name of the tectonic plate boundary with their specific movement.
Plates slide past each other
Plates push against each other
Plates pull away from each other
