Why Do We Use Imagery?
Essentially, imagery creates a picture in our heads when we read.
Without this technique, reading would be very dull.

What Are Similes Again?
A simile compares one thing with another using ‘as’ or ‘like’:
“My heart is like a beating drum.”
“Skin assoft as silk.”

What Are Metaphors Again?
A metaphor says one thing is another.
“He is an ugly toad.”

Personification is when the writer gives an object human qualities:
“The table squealed as I dragged it across the
room.”
