What are dinosaurs?

​

Dinosaurs are a group of reptiles that dominated the land for over 140 million years (more than 160 million years in some parts of the world). They evolved diverse shapes and sizes, from the fearsome giant Spinosaurus to the chicken-sized Microraptor, and were able to survive in a variety of ecosystems.

What did dinosaurs do all day?

Dinosaurs walked around slowly, eating, and going to the bathroom all day everyday. They weren't necessarily violent, even the meat-eaters. Most of the time they were just looking for a meal! When dinosaurs were not hunting, eating or sleeping hey would communicate with one another​.

​What happened to the dinosaurs on Earth?

Evidence suggests an asteroid impact was the main culprit. Volcanic eruptions that caused large-scale climate change may also have been involved, together with more gradual changes to Earth's climate that happened over millions of years.
