• ​The most common and diverse group of animals without backbones.

• There are many different kinds of insects.

• ​Insects are often called bugs.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN INSECTS​

1. Has six legs

​2. Two antennae attached to the head

​Use to feel and smell

​3. The body is made of three main parts:

head, thorax and abdomen.

​Legs are attached to the thorax part.

​4. Have a hard outer body covering (exoskeleton) that protects their bodies.

​5. Reproduce by laying eggs
