Ex. A certain buko pie store in Laguna has a holiday promo for its loyal customers. For every 5 boxes of buko pie, there will be a discount of 90 pesos. If Ed wants to buy 5 boxes at 140.00 per box , how much will hen pay?
Solution :
5 x 140 - 90 = n Do multiplication first.
700 - 90 = n Do subtraction next.
610 = n
Therefore , Ed will pay 610.00 when he buys 5 boxes of buko pie.
