Multi-digit Multiplication

​Watch the video and then complete the problem set for each section.

Section 1: Multi-digit numbers x 1 digit numbers

​Section 2: 3 Digit numbers x 2 digit numbers

​Up to 5 Digits x 1 Digit

​We will be practicing the STANDARD ALGORITHM. So we will focus on the DIGIT instead of the VALUE.

1. ​Stack your numbers with the larger number on top.

2. ​Multiply each of the digits in the top by the digit on the bottom.

3 Digits x 2 Digit

​We will be practicing the STANDARD ALGORITHM. So we will focus on the DIGIT instead of the VALUE.

1. ​Stack your numbers with the larger number on top.

2. ​Multiply each of the digits in the top by the digit in the one's place on the bottom

3. ​Place a zero in the one's place in your next partial product.

4. ​Repeat the process by multiplying each of the digits in the top by the digit in the ten's place on the bottom.

5. ​Add the partial products together.
