The Importance of Sleep
Sleep is essential for staying healthy and performing well in daily life. Scientists recommend that children get at least 9–11 hours of sleep each night to help their brains and bodies grow. When we sleep, our bodies repair themselves, and our minds process what we have learned during the day.
Lack of sleep can make people feel tired, cranky, and unable to concentrate in school. Studies show that students who do not get enough sleep may struggle with memory, problem-solving, and even their mood.
To sleep well, experts suggest having a regular bedtime, avoiding screens before bed, and keeping the bedroom quiet and dark. Good sleep habits help people feel more focused and energetic the next day.
