What are some biological reasons for muscle fatigue?

Muscular System's Role in Homeostasis

When we are exercising, we use more energy and thus need more oxygen to do cellular respiration. Our breathing rate must increase to accommodate this. Again, the brain registers this, and motor neurons that connect to the diaphragm increase our breathing rate. The diaphragm relaxes and contracts faster to allow for a higher breathing rate to restore homeostasis.

Muscular System's Role in Homeostasis

Glycogen, the body's primary storage form of glucose, serves as a readily available energy reserve, primarily stored in the liver and muscles, and is broken down to release glucose when needed for energy or to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
