Why do they visit flowers?

Insects visit flowers because they get a reward for doing so, usually in the form of food Such as nectar.

WHAT IS POLLINATION?

What is pollination?
Pollination is the process of moving pollen from one flower to another. The pollen is transferred from the male parts of a flower to the female parts of a flower of the same kind.
The pollen moves from anthers to stigma.

GROUP DISCUSSION
ROOM 1: TALK ABOUT HOW BEES POLLINATE PLANTS
ROOM 2: TALK ABOUT HOW BUTTERFLIES POLLINATE PLANTS.
ROOM 3: FIND OUT WHICH OTHER ANIMALS HELP IN POLLINATION.

BEES AND BUTTERFLIES
Bees and butterflies get pollen stuck on varoius parts of their bodies while sipping nectar from flowers. this pollen then rubs off on certain parts of the next flower that they fly to.

SOME POLLINATORS ARE:
Birds, bats, butterflies, moths, flies, beetles, wasps, small mammals, and most importantly, bees are pollinators. They visit flowers to drink nectar or feed off of pollen and transport pollen grains as they move from spot to spot.

End the lesson by asking oral questions from the lesson.
