What is a Canyon:

A Canyon is a deep narrow valley with steep sides, most canyons have some type of water running through it if not it did. Canyons are made from water running.

destructive processes:

downcutting is the main cause of the Grand Canyon which means a river went over a certain part of land for several million years and made a canyon. The Grand Canyon is an example of a downcutting canyon. The processes of forming the grand canyon is weathering and erosion. Some of the rocks are less strong than others which makes it more prone to weathering and erosion.

Igneous rock is one of the 3 most popular rocks, it is made from magma coming out of a volcano. It is formed from cooling of melted rock.

Metamorphic rocks start at a different rock but the substantially changed. They ar formed from extreme heat and pressure.
