SIMPLE SUBJECT

The simple subject of a sentence is the main word which tells us WHO / WHAT is performing and action. It is always a noun or a pronoun.

Ex. The moon is shining bright.

SIMPLE PREDICATE

The simple predicate starts with the complete verb in the sentence. The simple predicate may be one or more words.  

Ex. The moon is shining bright. 

COMPOUND SUBJECT

A sentence has a compound subject when it has more than one subject.

Ex. Rachel and Steffi read the same book.

COMPOUND PREDICATE

A compound predicate appears when there is more than one predicate.
