WRITING :

An Opinion Essay

(Opinion = What do you think?

Do you agree or not?

Giving Opinions (Beri Pendapat)

• requires you to take a stand on an issue

• usually in present tense

• whether you agree or disagree

Before starting the essay....

• read the writing task and underline the keyword

• think about the points of the topic, the advantages/disadvantages, argument for/against etc.

• choose 2 or 3 of the points as your idea for the writing part

• To give contrast ideas - but / although / even though / while / on the other hand / however etc.

• To give example - for instance / such as / for example etc.

• To give opinion - In my opinion / From my point of view / the way I see it / personally, I believe etc.

• To end - In conclusion / To sum up / Finally etc.

now you can see clearly the opinion.
