Poll

How are you today?

Doing Great

I'm okay

Not too good, it could be better

I'm really feeling bad

3

Probability with a Spinner

  • Count how many sections are in the spinner. This is the total

  • Determine how many on the spinner is the result you need to find

  • Possible needs/total sections on spinner

  • Read the problem and look for words to pay attention to--not, and, or

  • Enter the fraction in simplest form

  • Write the way the question wants the probability if they want a fraction, decimal or percent

How To Use Tables to Find Probability

  • If a total is not given, find the total

  • Find the frequency needed/total

  • Reduce the fraction if needed.

  • Pay attention to the question, look for not, or, and

  • If you need a decimal, divide frequency and total

  • To find a percent, move the decimal two places to the right. Ex: 0.50 = 50%

  • If the word theoretical is used, the table is not used. You need to use what happens in one outcome for needed result.
