• Divide the Coefficients

• Divide the Variables by subtracting the exponents

Simplify:  

 $\frac{8x^5\ +\ 6x^3\ -\ 2x}{2x}$

 $\frac{8x^5}{2x}\ +\ \frac{6x^3}{2x}\ -\ \frac{2x}{2x}$ 

Simplify:  Divide each term of the Polynomial by the Monomial

 $\frac{8x^5\ +\ 6x^3\ -\ 2x}{2x}$  

Divide the Coefficients and Divide the Variables by subtracting the exponents

 $\frac{8x^5}{2x}\ +\ \frac{6x^3}{2x}\ -\ \frac{2x}{2x}\ =\ 4x^4\ +\ 3x^2\ -\ 1$ 

Simplify:  $\frac{18a^7\ -24a^6\ -\ 30a^5\ +12a^4}{6a^2}$  

 $\frac{18a^7}{6a^2}\ -\ \frac{24a^6}{6a^2}\ -\ \frac{30a^5}{6a^2}\ +\ \frac{12a^4}{6a^2}$  

 $3a^5\ -\ 4a^4\ -\ 5a^3\ +\ 2a^2$
