To build a histogram, we need a few things...
We need to figure out how wide each interval will be. We will use this to start organizing our data.
Organize data within intervals by using a frequency table.
Put all of this together in a beautiful histogram!

Math Response
What is the range of the data?
4
Math Response
For this histogram, we are going to use 6 intervals. Let's use the range (70.5) to determine the interval width. We will need to round to the nearest whole number.

Draw
Now that we got started with our frequency table, let's finish it out. Remember each interval is 12 mm wide. Frequency means how many times a number occurs in that interval.
7
Your frequency table should look something like this. Write these values down on some paper because we will need this to draw our histogram in the next slide.
8
Draw
Use this empty graph to create your histogram with the information from the frequency table that you wrote down. It is OK if it is a little messy! Do your best :)
9
Draw
The data shows the number of Snapchats sent by 7th graders in one day:
99, 97, 94, 88, 84, 81, 80, 77, 71, 63, 60, 54
Use this to fill out the frequency table!

Use the frequency table that we wrote down from last slide to create a histogram here.
