Many historians have searched for the legendary Camelot. Most believe that Camelot was never a real city, but there are many places all over the United Kingdom that have been linked to the legend of King Arthur.

In more recent times, evidence has led some to believe that Camelot was actually Cadbury Castle, a hilltop fortress in Somerset, England. A slab of rock dating back to the sixth century with a name similar to Arthur carved in it was found.
