Why do we learn the Exodus story?
1.
The Exodus is a dramatic story of how God saves His chosen people from
a wicked king (Pharaoh). Through a series of miracles, God brings His
people out of Egypt where he makes a covenant with them and gives
them a set of laws so that they will serve Him and no other gods.
2.
The story tells us of God’s nature as a holy God who cannot tolerate sin.
3.
He gives His people what He expects of them, However, He also know
that the people cannot follow all His laws perfectly, so He provides a set
of rituals of sacrificing animals, to remind them that they are forgiven by
grace.

Why do we learn the Exodus story?
4. The story provides many lessons or pictures of what Jesus will do not just
for the Jews but for all believers many years later.
5. Jesus, the Son of God, will make the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
6. All who believe and put their trust in Him are saved, just like those who
put the blood of the lamb on their door posts in Egypt when the angel of
death passed over their houses on the night of the first Passover.
