Rules : How to Form Plural Nouns

Rule #1 Add -s

• Add -s to most singular nouns to make them plural.

• Remember: Singular means 1 and plural means more than 1.

• Examples:

• Egg-Eggs

• Bed-Beds

• Bike-Bikes

Rule #2 Add -es

• Add -es to words that end in s, sh, ch, or x.

• Examples:

• Box-Boxes

• Fox-Foxes

• Dish-Dishes

• Branch-Branches
