Writing that formulates a concentrated imaginative awareness of experience in language chosen and arranged to create a specific emotional response through meaning, sound, and rhythm

​Rhymed Verse

Verse without rhyme, especially that which uses iambic pentameter.

​Blank Verse

A line of verse with ten syllables arranged in five metrical feet, or iambs, where each iamb is an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable

​Iambic Pentameter

Poetry that does not rhyme or have a regular meter.

​Free Verse

The choice and use of words and phrases in speech or writing.

​Diction

In literature, "conflict" refers to a struggle or clash between opposing forces, usually between a protagonist and an external or internal obstacle, which drives the narrative forward and creates tension within a story; it's essentially the problem or challenge a character must overcome to achieve their goal
