Powers of 10

  • 10, 100, 100, etc. are all powers of 10

  • When we multiply a decimal number by a power of ten, we count the number of 0s in the power of 10 and move the decimal point that many places to the right.

  • Powers of 10 can also be represented with an exponent. The exponent tells you the number of 0s that power of 10 has.
