Rounding Decimals
Let's practice rounding decimals. BEFORE we get to the multiple choice slide, SHOW YOUR WORK on your whiteboard or piece of paper. You may use the number line strategy OR the place value chart strategy to round the decimal (whatever works best for your brain!)

- Review the place value chart to remember the names of the place values
- On the right side of the decimals point, each place value has a "ths" at the end
- On the left side, there are no "ths"

Decimals with Whole Numbers
You can also write decimals that have whole numbers. You use the word AND in place of the decimal.
For example 543.88 would be written as five hundred fourty three and eighty eight hundredths.
