FORCES

2

Force a push or pull that one object exerts on another

FORCE

For example: a magnet pulling an iron nail,
a pushing a chair

3

Fill in the Blank

A push or a pull of an object is

4

How Do You Measure Force?

We use a spring scale. In a spring scale the spring is attached to an object and the spring is pulled until the object moved.

5

A unit for measuring force. It is equal to 9.8 kilogram per second square.

Newton

6

Multiple Choice

Forces are measured in units called?

1

Newton

2

kilograms

3

joules

4

7

How Do Forces Affect Object

Forces can change the motion of objects.
For example, when a batter strikes the ball.

The bat has exerted a force on the ball and has it flying toward the outfield.

8

TYPES OF FORCES

Air Resistance Force Gravitational Force
Applied Force Electrical Force
Spring Force Normal Force
Frictional Force Magnetic Force

9

Air Resistance Force

What is air resistance

Basically, it is friction between an object and the air.

What causes air resistance?

All matter is made from atoms and/ or molecules. The air is no exception. When something moves through the air, it bumps into the atoms and molecules.

10

Applied Force

What is applied force

Applied force is when living creature puts pressure on a object.

11

Spring Force

What is spring force

Is when an object is pushed together, then when pressures taken away it pops back to its normal self.

12

Frictional Force

What is frictional force

Frictional forces is present everywhere in our daily life. It is simply impossible to reduce it completely.

13

Gravitational Force

Newton's fiery of gravitational forces

Every particle of matter in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of the masses of the particles and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

14

Electrical Force

What is electrical force?

The attractive or repulsive interactions between any two charged objects is an electric force. Like any force, its affect upon objects.

15

Normal Force

What is normal force?

Normal force is the support force exerted upon an object which is in contact with another stable object.

16

Magnetic Force

What is normalmagnetic force?

Magnetic force is the same as gravitational and electrical forces in that no one knows truly what it is.

17

Multiple Choice

Forces can change the _____________?

1

movement of objects

2

speed, direction or shape of an object

3

slow down or speed up objects only

4

18

Multiple Choice

A parachute can make an object slow down because of air resistance.
