●Subject complements can follow a LINKING VERB
●They rename or describe the subject
○Called PREDICATE NOMINATIVES/NOUNS (PN) or PREDICATE ADJECTIVES (PA)
●Example:
○The Hope Diamond is a beautiful GEM.
●The Hope Diamond is BEAUTIFUL.
