The value of where a digit is in a number!​

​Judging by what number sits in a certain place in either a decimal or whole number, it is a certain value or percentage in relation to the power of ten.

Fractions and Place Value

All place values in a number have a fraction equivalent.

That means, when expressed in terms of the tenth power, 0.03 would be 3/100, because the number 3 is in the hundredths place.
