Biomes: Concentration on Intro toTerrestrial Biome
S7L4d. Ask questions to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources to differentiate between Earth’s major terrestrial biomes (i.e., tropical rainforest, savanna, temperate forest, desert, grassland, taiga, and tundra) and aquatic ecosystems (i.e., freshwater, estuaries, and marine).

2
Biome Definition & Characteristics
A biome is a large area of land that is classified based on the climate, plants, and animals that make their homes there. Biomes contain many ecosystems within the same area.
When we talk about climate in this lesson, we are going to look at the average temperature and precipitation the region receives. Climate is often influenced by latitude, or how far north or south a location is from the equator.
3
Know Your Type of Biomes
Land-based biomes are called terrestrial biomes. Water-based biomes are called aquatic biomes. Temperatures, precipitation amounts, and prevalent organisms characterize the biomes of the world.
4
Multiple Choice
