and governments, were
established across what is now
the United States,Canada and
Mexico.
Indigenous peoples were pushed
out of their ancestral lands by
European settlers and the
governments they would
establish .
Often times Native people were
forced to live on reservations,
most of which are located in the
west.

Our novel for this cycle takes
place in part on the Spokane
Reservation in Washington
State.
Today we will learn more about
the setting and how it may cause
conflict for the main character
of the novel.
