Climate change is where the earth's normal global and local weather has a long-term shift which is caused by carbon emissions and the greenhouse effect.

What is Climate change?

​Causes: Increased greenhouse gas emissions, ocean absorption of heat and carbon dioxide, melting ice sheets and glaciers, and thermal expansion of water.

Causes and effects

Effects: warming oceans, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, changes in the ocean currents. marine heat waves, disrupted ecosystems, and coastal erosion and flooding.

Cost-benefit analysis (CBA) in the context of climate change aims to determine the most economically efficient strategies for mitigating climate change by comparing the costs of mitigation actions and the benefits of avoiding climate damages.

What's the C.B.A for climate change?

Climate change is causing significant economic impacts on the ocean, including losses in fisheries, tourism, and infrastructure, estimated to cost the global economy $428 billion annually by 2050 and $1.98 trillion by 2100.

Economic impacts of climate change

To combat climate change impacting oceans, solutions include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, restoring and conserving marine ecosystems, scaling up ocean-based renewable energy, and exploring carbon capture and storage technologies. 

Possible solutions to climate change

Implementing costs, policy and regulatory costs, and potential disruption to existing industries.
