By Alex Meads

2

Symmetry

A figure is line-symmetric if it can be folded on a line to form 2 matching parts that fit EXACTLY on top of each other.

The fold line is called a line of symmetry.

3

This figure is line-symmetric.

media

It has 2 lines of symmetry.

It can be folded on both lines into equal parts.

4

This figure is line-symmetric.

It has 6 lines of symmetry.

It can be folded on each line into matching parts.

5

This figure is not line-symmetric.

It has no lines of symmetry.

It cannot be folded into matching parts.
