Verbs - Definitions

  • Verbs are words that show actions or states of being

  • A verb's "person" shows who is doing the action

    • first person "I/we"

    • second person "you/y'all"

    • third person "he,she,it /they"

  • A verb's "number" shows how many people/things are doing a verb

    • singular - one subject

    • plural - more than one subject

  • A verb's "tense" shows when a verb is taking place
