The Renaissance
The Renaissance was an exciting time of learning and creativity in Europe. During this period, people became very interested in art, books, and ideas from ancient Greece and Rome. This cultural movement changed how people thought about the world, themselves, and their abilities.
Artists began painting and sculpting in new, more realistic ways. Writers and thinkers challenged old ideas and encouraged people to be curious and creative. Scientists started to ask questions and explore the world using observation and experiments. This period of growth and discovery helped shape the modern world we live in today.

Niccolo Machiavelli
In the world of political ideas, Niccolò Machiavelli's book The Prince is a famous work from the Renaissance period. Machiavelli argued that rulers need absolute power to control and lead effectively. Unlike other thinkers who believed leaders should always be moral, Machiavelli focused on what actually works in real-world leadership. He believed that achieving a goal is more important than strictly following moral rules.
Machiavelli thought that a ruler should be willing to do almost anything—including lying, tricking people, or using force—to protect their government and keep their position of power. His main idea was simple: sometimes leaders must make tough choices to keep their country stable, even if those choices might seem unfair or dishonest.
