How is informative writing different than other genres of writing?

Writers have different jobs. Sometimes, we write stories to entertain people. Other times, we write to share what we think or feel. But today, we’re talking about writing that teaches the reader new facts. This is called informative writing.
We are going to make a big list called "Informative Writing Gives"....Watch me write real facts. Who can tell me another thing informative writing gives us?

Title: All About Sharks
Sharks are large fish that live in oceans all over the world. They have sharp teeth and powerful fins that help them swim fast. Most sharks eat smaller fish, but some eat plankton. Scientists have discovered over 500 different kinds of sharks. Sharks are important because they keep ocean life balanced.
