Four Types of Sentences

Declarative, Imperative, Interrogative and Exclamatory, sentences...Why?

Each type of sentence helps you to express your thoughts in interesting ways. Each type has a job to do! The different types of sentences help you to clarify what you want to say and makes communication easier to understand.

Declarative-Makes a statement-tells you something interesting and ends with a period.
Imperative-Gives you a command-tells you to do something and ends with a period.
Interrogative-Ask you a question-makes you have to answer and ends with a question mark.
Exclamatory-Makes you shout out your feelings-allows you to see excitement and ends with an exclamation point.

Four Types of Sentences

Whether spoken or written, we can use our words to encourage others-sharing God's truth (declarative), giving kind directions (imperative), asking caring questions (interrogative), showing love (exclamatory). When we choose the right words, we can honor God and encourage others.
" Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
