​Diet and Zero soft drinks contain an artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame. Benedict's solution is a deep-blue alkaline reagent used to test for the presence of reducing sugars, such as glucose, in a sample.

  1. Add 10 drops of Benedict's solution to each test tube

  2. Allow the test tubes to remain in the hot water bath for 3 minutes

  3. Record the results in the data table once the 3 minutes are complete

  1. Boil hot water in a beaker to 100 degrees celsius

  2. Add 1 full dropper of Sprite into 1 test tube

  3. Add 1 dropper full of Sprite zero into a test tube

  4. Add 1 dropper full of water into a test tube
