John 2:1-11
Jesus Changes Water Into Wine
1 On the third day a wedding
took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and
Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They
have no more wine.” 4 “Woman,[a] why do you involve me?”
Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said
to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Nearby stood
six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial
washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b]
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so
they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now
draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” 11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Acts 1:12-25
Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas

12 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s
walk[a] from the city. 13 When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying.
Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew;
James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. 14 They all joined together
constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
15 In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty)
16 and said, “Brothers and sisters,[b] the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke
long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus.
17 He was one of our number and shared in our ministry.” 18 (With the payment he received for
his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines
spilled out. 19 Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language
Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) 20 “For,” said Peter, “it is written in the Book of Psalms:
“‘May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it,’[c] and, “‘May another take his place of
leadership
.’[d] 21 Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the
whole time the Lord Jesus was living among us, 22 beginning from John’s baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection.” 23 So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. 24 Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen 25 to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” 26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.

Paul later becomes the 14th person to be named an Apostle in Acts 9
Barnabas is named the 15th person to become an Apostle but when isn't stated

Galatians 5:13-26
Life by the Spirit

13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not
use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another
humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one
command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.”[b] 15 If you bite and
devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each
other. 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the
desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the
Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict
with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want. 18
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The acts
of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Who's hands did God use to author the book of Hebrews?

Unknown

19

Unknown

It is unknown who physically authored the book of
Hebrews.

There are several theories and traditional beliefs;

1) The traditional view until the 1800s was that this was
authored by
Paul but the writing style is unlike any of his
letters.

2) The historian Tertullian, attributed the book to
Barnabas, Paul's companion, but there is little supporting evidence.

3) Martin Luther suggested
Apollos, a learned and eloquent man known for his knowledge of the Scriptures (as mentioned in the book of Acts), as a possible author.

4)
Priscilla and Aquilla the missionary couple, who mentored Apollos have also been proposed as possible authors.

5) A belief is that the book was authored by
Luke who transcribed a sermon delivered by Paul but this isn't backed up as a standard practice of composition

2 Kings 2
Elijah Taken Up to Heaven

1 When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind,
Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha,
“Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “As surely as
the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to
Bethel. The company of the prophets at Bethel came out to Elisha and
asked, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you
today?” “Yes, I know,” Elisha replied, “so be quiet.” Then Elijah said to him,
“Stay here, Elisha; the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” And he replied, “As
surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went
to Jericho. The company of the prophets at Jericho went up to Elisha
and asked him, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?
” “Yes, I know,” he replied, “so be quiet.” Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to the Jordan.” And he replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So the two of them walked on. Fifty men from the company of the prophets went and stood at a distance, facing the place where Elijah and Elisha had stopped at the Jordan. Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground. When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?” “Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied. 10 “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.” 11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. 12 Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his garment and tore it in two. 13 Elisha then picked up Elijah’s cloak that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. 14 He took the cloak that had fallen from Elijah and struck the water with it. “Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” he asked. When he struck the water, it divided to the right and to the left, and he crossed over.
