​🧠 Pengertian Simple Past Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian atau aktivitas yang telah terjadi dan selesai di masa lampau.
Example :
• I visited my grandmother last weekend.
• She watched a movie yesterday.

Ciri-Ciri Kalimat Simple Past Tense

• Menggunakan bentuk verb 2 (past form) dari kata kerja.

• Sering disertai keterangan waktu lampau seperti:

• yesterday

• last night/week/month/year

• two days ago

Note

• Verb 2 hanya digunakan dalam bentuk kalimat positif (+), untuk kalimat negatif (-) dan kalimat tanya (?) kembali ke verb 1 karena sudah digantikan oleh did.

• Did digunakan untuk semua subject.

Ada dua hal penting dalam past tense

• Di dalam past tense kita menggunakan kata kerja kedua. Kata kerja kedua bisa disebut sebagai Past simple, atau Verb 2. 

• Keterangan waktu dipakai untuk melengkapi suatu kalimat. Ada beberapa keterangan waktu dalam past tense yang secara umum digunakan, misalnya, last year, last morning, last night, yesterday, two days ago, three weeks ago.
