A symbol is a picture, icon, object, or even sometimes a person, that represents something else!

What is a Symbol?

A symbol isn't just something for larger, important things. Most symbols are just used to make things easier to understand.

Some symbols, like a green light or a star on a map, are super simple! Some symbols are fun, like sports logos!

Symbols Can Be Found Anywhere!

​Hearts are used as a symbol of love, one of the most common symbols in the world!

How Can We Use Symbols?

Here in Virginia, we must know a few symbols. Like our state capital!
