Students will only need three things for class:
1) Laptop and Charger Everyday
2) Binder or Folder to keep notes in.
3) Something to write with.
Simple is always better! - Computers may not be used every day but are an important part to help students.

The most important thing for the classroom is creating an enviroment to respect.
What are the classroom expectations?

1) TEAMS acts like a binder for students.
2) We will use Quizzizz (Waypoint) - We are using it right now!
3) SchoolAI - We use this program to help students become familiar with a part of technology that they will need in the future. This is VERY monitored.
Technology in the classroom? - Yes!

We use Total Points for grading in class - Here is how they earn it:
1) Classwork: 30% (work worth 10-20 points each.
2) Tests/Quizzes: 40% (Quizzes worth 100pts -Tests worth 200pts each)
3) Essays/Projects: 30% (50-100pts each)
How do students earn their grade?

The Social Studies Department has a late policy that allows students to hand in work within the 5-week period.
- Each assignment will be given a due date - If student doesn't hand in work on time - Points can be taken off the assignment.
If a student hands in work late the maximum grade he can get is half-credit.

We will be using Curriculum-aligned films and documentaries.
All media connects to course themes.
We have thoughtful censoring of sensitive materials - Most videos are rated PG to R.
