​Acceleration is the change of speed or direction.
If a car accelerates at the beginning and then stops accelerating, this does not mean the car stops moving, it continues moving at the velocity it stopeed accelerating in.

​When a ball or anything on earth falls it gets faster as it falls. The reason is because gravity force is causing an acceleration making the object fall 10m/s2

You can figure out the end velocity before hitting the ground by getting the area under the curve

Once we find it we know what was the velocity when it stopped accelerating.
