Front vs. Back
Anterior: (or Ventral): The front or belly side of the body.
Posterior: (or Dorsal): The back or rear side of the body.
Superior: (or Cranial): Toward the head or upper part of a structure.
Inferior: (or Caudal): Away from the head or toward the lower part of a structure.

Lateral: Away from the midline of the body.
Medial: Toward the midline of the body
Proximal: Closer to the point of origin or the trunk of the body.
Distal: Further away from the point of origin or the trunk of the body.

Deep: (or Internal): Away from the body surface, or further into the body.
Superficial: (or External): Toward or on the body surface.
Supine: Lying on the back with the face or palm up.
Prone: Lying on the abdomen with the face or palm down.

Vertical plane that runs lengthwise through the body
2. Coronal Plane (Frontal Plane):
Vertical plane that divides the body into front (anterior) and back (posterior) sections
