1. Pengertian

Announcement text adalah teks yang digunakan untuk memberikan informasi resmi kepada orang banyak. Informasi biasanya penting, singkat, dan jelas, seperti acara sekolah, lomba, perubahan jadwal, kehilangan barang, atau informasi umum.

2. Tujuan Announcement

• Menyampaikan informasi penting.
• Mengajak orang untuk mengikuti kegiatan tertentu.
• Memberi tahu tentang suatu kejadian.
• Menyebarkan pengumuman kepada publik dengan cepat.

3. Fungsi Sosial

• Menyampaikan pengumuman formal maupun informal.
• Menginformasikan suatu kegiatan, acara, atau hal penting lain.
• Menjadi media komunikasi antara pemberi informasi dan penerima.

4. Struktur Teks (Generic Structure)

1. Title/Heading → Judul singkat pengumuman.
   Contoh: Attention Students!, Lost and Found, School Announcement.
2. Receiver/For Whom → Siapa yang dituju.
   Contoh: All students of SMA Negeri 8 Inspirasi.
3. Content/Details → Isi pengumuman yang menjawab 5W + 1H (What, When, Where, Who, Why, How).
4. Closing/Contact Person → Ucapan terima kasih, atau kontak yang bisa dihubungi..
