Let’s see how verbs change when we talk about now, before, and later!
2
A verb is a word that shows action — it tells what someone is doing.
Examples: run, jump, swim, eat, read
💡 Tip: Every sentence needs a verb!
What Is a Verb?
3
🕒 Present tense verbs tell about actions that are happening right now.
Examples:
I walk to school.
She plays piano.
They read books together.
💡 Think: What’s happening today or now?
Present Tense Verbs

🕰️ Past tense verbs tell about actions that already happened.
We often add -ed, but some verbs are irregular and change completely!
Examples:
I walked to school.
She played piano.
They read (pronounced “red”) books yesterday.
💡 Think: What happened yesterday or before now?
Past Tense Verbs
5
⏩ Future tense verbs tell about actions that will happen later.
We show future tense by adding will before the verb.
Examples:
I will walk to school tomorrow.
She will play piano after dinner.
They will read books tonight.
💡 Think: What’s going to happen later?
