⏰ “Verb Time Travelers: Present, Past, and Future Tense!”

Let’s see how verbs change when we talk about now, before, and later!

2

media

A verb is a word that shows action — it tells what someone is doing.

Examples: run, jump, swim, eat, read

💡 Tip: Every sentence needs a verb!

What Is a Verb?

3

media

🕒 Present tense verbs tell about actions that are happening right now.

Examples:

  • I walk to school.

  • She plays piano.

  • They read books together.

💡 Think: What’s happening today or now?

Present Tense Verbs

4

🕰️ Past tense verbs tell about actions that already happened.
We often add
-ed, but some verbs are irregular and change completely!

Examples:

  • I walked to school.

  • She played piano.

  • They read (pronounced “red”) books yesterday.

💡 Think: What happened yesterday or before now?

Past Tense Verbs

5

Future tense verbs tell about actions that will happen later.
We show future tense by adding
will before the verb.

Examples:

  • I will walk to school tomorrow.

  • She will play piano after dinner.

  • They will read books tonight.

💡 Think: What’s going to happen later?
