Pingtung County is beautiful with clear water and clean bays. Pingtung produces several agricultural products. The aquaculture industry and fishery activities are the main and most important in the county.

Pingtung is a county located at the southernmost point of Taiwan. The good geographical location and advantages provided by the altitude make Pingtung an ideal place for growing tropical fruits.

In recent years, with good management and fruits, including papayas, bananas and pineapples from Gaoshu to the groupers, (kind of fish) from Linbian, the demand for these products has soared. High quality pineapples and Aiden mangoes are exported to China, Japan, Korea, and many other Asian countries.

The quality of tropical fruits grown in Pingtung is in high demand from various

countries worldwide. Even to Japan and EU countries that set very high import standards.

During the Lunar New Year, people like to give wax apple gift boxes to their friends and relatives. The wax apples come from the coastal areas from Donggang Township to Linbian Township and the Jiadong Township in the south of Pingtung County. The famous black pearl wax apples are a special product of the Linbian Township.
