  • A solution is a homogeneous mixture (uniform composition).

  • Opposite: heterogeneous mixture (like a salad or trail mix).

Before we get into it:

  • Electrolytes: Dissociate into ions in water (NaCl). Conduct electricity.

  • Non-electrolytes: Do not dissociate (sugar, glucose).

Note: While "separate" can often be used, "dissociate" has specific uses in contexts, such as a chemical reaction where a molecule breaks apart
