To say where someone is going, use the verb ir
Here are its present tense forms...

The verb is always followed by an "a"
For example, to say where someone is going use IR + A + LOCATION
Voy a la biblioteca --> I'm going to the library
Tú vas a la escuela --> You're going to school
To say what activity someone is going to do, use IR + A + INFINITIVE (VERB)
Mis amigos van a correr --> My friends are going to run
Mi hermano Julio va a estudiar --> My brother Julio is going to study
