Cover up “John and” and read

“___ went to the game.”

You would say:
✔ I went to the game.

So the correct sentence is:
John and I went to the game.

What do you do with harder sentence and another person is involved? You just cover up the the other name(s). Here's how:

The Cover-Up Rule

“Give the Chromebook to John and ___.”

Cover up “John and”:

“Give the Chromebook to ___.”


You would say:
✔ “Give the Chromebook to me.”

So the correct sentence is:
Give the Chromebook to John and me.
